NCsoft confirmed that the game server will be shut down and as a form of their appreciation to the WildStar community, the company is releasing a huge update that increases the drop rate of the in-game currency Omnibits, players will be upgraded to Signature status, seasonal and rotating items on store is purchasable with Omnibits, increased Essence gain and much more. The game has some great art design, setting, and housing but most of the mechanics or features are either poorly implemented or have been done to death in other MMOs.Carbine Studios’ WildStar MMORPG will be shutting down its game service permanently on November 28. "Don't stand in the fire" can literally work in just about every MMO now a days. If you were implying the dungeons, then no those weren't hard once you learned the dance dance revolution moves just like in every other dungeon in MMOs over the past 10 years. Or doing the typical quest hub grind of killing X of Y or gathering A amount of B item.
Its first game, sci-fi MMO WildStar, launched on PC in 2014, receiving. Sorry, but there was nothing challenging about staring at red and green half circles, trapezoids, and long rectangles on the ground around my character's feet during a fight. Carbine Studios was established in 2005 by a number of ex-Blizzard developers, predominantly from the World of Warcraft team. Also sorry the devolpers made a game that was challenge for the simple minded. The active population in this game is great not half the morons in other games. Maybe if ppl would have given the game a chance there would be more ppl playing. I love how all bash wildstar because it's not like every other MMO and the devolpers actually listen to their players. NCSoft further explained: WildStar players who have spent money within the game will be refunded purchases from Juntil the payment system is shut off. As per a statement provided to Kotaku publisher NCSoft has already closed Carbine Studios and will begin the process of winding WildStar down to ultimately shutter the game.
It's the kind of thing that if done right could blow the industry open, in a good way, for both players, hobbyist DMs/content devs, and the professional industry. Developer Carbine Studios is closing down, taking its MMO WildStar along with it. Any overages would go to the people running the server minus some royalties for the developer. There could be a donation option for players to offset server fees. What would be great is if hosting services could do a lot of the heavy lifting for annual fees so you could setup servers and provide access.
MMOs get to this point in their age where the publisher and developers aren't interested in it anymore so they close it. They could stop dev on Minecraft and it would still keep going just like NWN/2. Wildstone sounds fun though, and nowadays every game (MMO or single) releases a card-game version, so it would fit into the lineĭepending on how players can interact, control, or manage servers the idea of persistent online shared worlds really appeals to me.Ī central key to the success in titles like Minecraft, NWN/2, and such, are that players control it all. Wildstar is not among my main games, but wishing a Legends-ification to any game is just a mean and very low blow, even if it's just for the comic relief. Dumb idea, I know.OR WAIT! Wildstar Legends! Or idk.hire people to fix the game you've already invested a lot of money in.
